Our Women in Big Data - AWS AI/ML Workshop Panelists: 

Danielle Greshock, Senior Manager, AWS:

Danielle is a Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture in the AWS Partner Program. She is responsible for several partner ecosystems at AWS including Data and Analytics, ML, and Blockchain, and her team directly works with several strategic Big Data Partners such as Databricks, Cloudera, Snowflake, Confluent and MongoDB. She has been with AWS for almost 5 years, and has 17 years of experience prior to AWS building software systems at both startups and enterprises.

Erin Kelly. Practice Area Lead of Data & Analytics, Slalom:

Erin has a passion for helping clients accelerate innovation, insights, and business value with the cloud.  Erin has over 15 years of management consulting experience with deep expertise in the application of analytics, business intelligence, and data science to deliver business outcomes across multiple industries. Erin’s work includes defining strategies, developing world-class technology and data solutions, defining and establishing governance, and driving organizational change to support transformation initiatives. At Slalom, Erin is an advisor to Boston’s Inclusion & Diversity group. Prior to Slalom, Erin was a Manager at PwC in the Information Management practice.  She holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Tufts University and a MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.

Anne Margulies, CIO, Harvard University:

Anne Margulies is Vice President and University Chief Information Officer at Harvard and is responsible for information technology strategy, policies, and services that support the University’s mission of teaching, learning, and research. Anne leads Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT), which provides IT services to 30,000 educators, students, and staff.   Before returning to Harvard—she had been Assistant Provost and Executive Director for Information Systems in the late 1990s—Anne was Assistant Secretary for Information Technology and CIO for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In this capacity she developed and implemented a statewide strategic plan for IT and oversaw consolidation of a vast patchwork of agency IT organizations, operations, data centers, and networks into a coherent statewide structure. Prior to her service with the Commonwealth, Anne was founding Executive Director of MIT OpenCourseWare, MIT’s internationally acclaimed initiative to publish the teaching materials for their entire curriculum openly and freely over the Internet.

Sunanda Koduvayur,  Area Director Women in Big Data Boston ; Assoc. Dir of Data Science, Wayfair Inc.

Sunanda KP, is an Assoc. Dir. of Data Science at Wayfair Inc where she leads a team of data scientists and engineers to build ML solutions that lead to a better shopping experience for all Wayfair customers. Prior to this, she was leading data science innovation R&D projects at the AdTech startup DataXu. Through her career in data science she has enjoyed bringing quantitative definition and clarity to unwieldy strategic business questions that has led to multiple high-revenue products.

As part of this journey she has hired and scaled multiple high performing ML teams and takes an active part in the career pathing discussions of this emerging field. She is an active member in the local start-up, tech and data science community and is the co-organizer of one of the oldest meetup groups in Boston- The Data Scientist and the co-lead of the Women in Big Data Boston Chapter. She enjoys bringing together leading minds in the field of data science and AI, to engage in thought leadership in this nascent field. Her contributions to the field have been recognized by multiple awards and mentions including The Emerging Exectuive Award from MassTLC 2018 and REWORK’s 30 influential women advancing AI in Boston.

Before entering the data science world, she was a Princeton Postdoctoral fellow, working on the forefront of the next generation quantum materials that will replace silicon in a computer chip. Prior to that she received her PhD in physics from Purdue University working on solving open problems in the field of transport physics. Her research accomplishments have been recognized in the form of many awards including the H.Y.Fan Award for excellence in physics research.
