City of Chicago: Connecting and empowering youth
We partnered with the Civic Consulting Alliance and the City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services to develop a new community-service-focused program—the Chicago Youth Service Corps—for One Summer Chicago. The initiative created new opportunities that helped the city respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitated the transition of existing work to becoming remote for the season. We also assisted in bringing other civic-service roles into the program and ensured all opportunities aligned to the same goals. Read more here
City of Oakland: Creating police transparency and trust with data
The Oakland Police Department has been under federal oversight for 17 years due to a high-profile civil rights lawsuit known as the Riders Scandal. We worked with the City to build Microsoft Power BI dashboards that clearly visualize police activity—including stops, uses of force, and complaints—at the individual, squad, and department level. These dashboards provide transparency into the Oakland PD to better serve the people of Oakland. Read more here
